Nani at the double

He's turning into one helluva winger our boy.  He capped his night with a great assist to Ronaldo, who after 80 some odd minutes finally beat Man Utd target Anders Lindegaard.  Nani's 2nd goal profited from a hilarious mistake by Christian Poulsen and he beat the keeper firing into the top corner from the edge of the box.

In the U21s, England beat Romania.  Welbeck, Cleverley and Smalling all started.  Cleverley was the best player on the pitch but it was Jordan Henderson who stole the show with an absolute belter.  After the Romanian keeper parried a corner, Henderson unleashed a Scholes-esque volley first time that beat the keeper to his right.  However, Romania returned shortly with an equalizer.  Late on, Utd's Chris Smalling finished the game off.

I honestly hate Internationals but today was enjoyable.  The Ireland-Russia match was great and Italy dropped points to Norn Iron.

Well done, kick on next weekend please.

Drawing with Sunderland

What a horrific match.

Some of the worst stuff I've ever seen Utd play.  Credit to Bruce who set up Sunderland perfect against us.  But Micky Owen what in God's name was that showing.  Fletcher's off the boil as well and it may be time for Anderson to move in for him.

Rough.  Real rough

United at the Weekend

I can't say I'm thrilled with the Bolton kickoff.  A 12:00 GMT kickoff means I'll be waking up at 5:58 to watch a stream as it's not televised here in the States.  I think Scholes could be left out for the CL tie on Wednesday.  I'd like to see Berbatov - Owen up front for the first half to light a fire up Rooney in the second.

Coyle's Bolton is no team to scoff at.  They play some decent stuff and it looks like they've gotten Elmander to not look functionally retarded.

Utd 2-0 Nani, Andersonsonson

Reserves v. Bolton

Magnus Eikrem continues to impress.  The lad deserved a callup in the midweek Carling Cup fixture but didn't get one.  Surely he'll be playing in the next CC match.

Robbie Brady appears to be making strides.  Ole had high praise for him at the beginning of the season and I can't argue with that after seeing him thus far.

4-0 and it could have been more as Eikrem, Ajose and Stewart cracked the woodwork.  A nice run out for sure.

i sat in class today.  our professor asked the course to name the things the first thing they thought of when they heard islam.  everyone listed off the predictables: terrorism, jihad, gaza, israel, iraq, etc etc.

a small, quiet (and cute) girl wearing a hijab raised her hand and spoke.

"persecution."
